Governance and Accountability
The Synese Robinson Youth Support Foundation is a registered non-profit organisation in the Turks and Caicos Islands operating as a Company Limited by Guarantee in accordance with the Companies Ordinance and Non-Profit Organisations Regulations.
The Foundation is committed to responsible governance, transparency, and safeguarding as it develops and grows. As a newly established charitable organisation, the Foundation has been intentionally structured to ensure that all activities are ethical, well governed, and aligned with community need.
The Foundation is overseen by an active Board of Directors, with Directors and Officers formally appointed. The Board provides strategic oversight, ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and is responsible for safeguarding the Foundation’s mission, values, and assets.
Safeguarding and Responsibility
The Foundation recognises the sensitivity of its focus and the responsibility that comes with working to support young people and families. Safeguarding, appropriate boundaries, and responsible engagement are central to how the Foundation intends to operate.
As the Foundation develops, its work is aligned with:
✓ professional services and referral pathways
✓ appropriate safeguarding standards
✓collaboration with established organisations where appropriate
The Foundation does not seek to replace or duplicate existing services, but rather to complement and support community based approaches in a safe and responsible way.
Financial Oversight
The Foundation maintains its banking arrangements with RBC Royal Bank (Bahamas) Limited in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Financial controls are in place to ensure that funds are managed responsibly, transparently, and solely in furtherance of the Foundation’s charitable purposes.
The Board exercises oversight of financial activity, and the Foundation is committed to maintaining appropriate records and controls in line with regulatory requirements and best practice standards.
Our Governance Framework
At the point of establishment, the Foundation has put in place the following governance foundations:
✓ An adopted governing document setting out the Foundation’s charitable purpose, structure, and non-profit obligations
✓ A Board led governance model, with defined roles and responsibilities
✓A commitment to safeguarding, ethical practice, and accountability
✓Financial and operational procedures designed to support responsible growth
The Foundation is taking a phased and measured approach to development, recognising the importance of building strong systems, trust, and capacity before expanding activity.
Commitment to Transparency
The Synese Robinson Youth Support Foundation understands that trust is built through openness and integrity. As a new organisation, we are committed to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement, and to operating in a way that reflects the confidence placed in us by the community and our partners.
