About the Foundation
The Synese Robinson Youth Support Foundation is a newly registered charitable organisation established in the Turks and Caicos Islands to support and uplift young people experiencing emotional distress and mental health challenges. Rooted in lived experience, the Foundation was created to respond to the often‑unseen pressures facing young people and to help ensure that those who are struggling are met with understanding, early support, and hope.
The Foundation was established following Synese’s tragic passing. A profound loss that brought into focus the urgent and growing need for accessible mental health awareness, early intervention, and compassionate support for young people within our communities. Our experience underscored how silently many young people struggle, and how critical it is that support systems exist before emotional distress reaches a point of crisis.
In response, the Foundation was created to honour Synese’s memory by helping ensure that other young people feel seen, heard, and supported during moments of emotional vulnerability. It seeks to promote openness around mental health, reduce stigma, and strengthen pathways to care so that young people know help is available and hope is possible.
At the point of establishment, the Foundation was intentionally structured with a clear purpose, an active Board, and a strong commitment to responsible governance, safeguarding, and collaboration. The Foundation is overseen by formally appointed Directors and Officers and operates under an adopted governing document. Banking arrangements and financial controls are in place, and safeguarding and referral practices have been prioritised from the outset, aligned with professional services and existing support frameworks.
Why We Exist
Many young people navigate emotional distress, pressure, and feelings of isolation quietly and without support. These challenges are often unseen and unspoken, and too frequently young people do not know where to turn or feel safe asking for help.
The Synese Robinson Youth Support Foundation exists to help create supportive, safe, and compassionate spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and cared for before challenges escalate to a point of crisis. By promoting early support, open conversation, and community connection, the Foundation seeks to foster resilience, wellbeing, and hope.
Our Approach
The Foundation’s work is intentionally supportive rather than clinical. As the organisation is being established, its approach has been designed to focus on compassion, prevention, and early engagement, recognising the importance of meeting young people where they are and responding with care and empathy.
Our approach is:
Community‑driven, working alongside families, schools, and community organisations
Safeguarded and responsible, aligned with professional services and referral pathways
Collaborative, complementing existing services rather than duplicating them
Phased and sustainable, growing thoughtfully to ensure long‑term impact and accountability
Through education, mentorship, emotional support initiatives, and community partnerships, the Foundation aims to nurture resilience, understanding, and positive pathways for young people.
Governance and Responsibility
The Synese Robinson Youth Support Foundation is overseen by an active Board, with Directors and Officers formally appointed, and operates under an adopted governing document. At the point of establishment, the Foundation has prioritised responsible governance, safeguarding, transparency, and collaboration.
Banking arrangements and financial controls are currently being put in place in line with regulatory requirements and best‑practice standards, ensuring that the Foundation develops in a measured, well‑governed, and sustainable manner.
Looking Ahead
As a newly established Foundation, we are committed to growing with care and intention. We recognise the importance of partnership, learning, and community trust, and we welcome opportunities to work alongside organisations and individuals who share our commitment to supporting young people with compassion and integrity.
In honouring Synese’s life, the Foundation seeks to create brighter futures for others grounded in understanding, connection, and hope.
